KAYA H Cortado Cup - Set of 2

KAYA H combines a calm, reduced design language with handcrafted production and a particularly pleasant feel in the hand. The collection comprises 18 coordinated shapes in Shiny White and Matte Black. It was developed with the demands of restaurants and hotels in mind and is just as well suited to everyday use at home.

KAYA H is made by hand. During shaping, drying, glazing and firing, small differences in surface, colour and shape can arise. They are part of the collection's handcrafted character and show that this is not a fully industrially standardised product.

Yes. The porcelain body is worked by hand using plaster moulds and then further processed, glazed and fired in several stages. This method allows more precise shaping than free throwing on the potter's wheel, without giving up the handcrafted production process.

The two collections share a related design language but are made in different ways. KAYA is thrown freely on the potter's wheel piece by piece, which makes the individual traces of the hand particularly visible. KAYA H is made by hand using plaster moulds and is therefore more consistent in size and shape. KAYA stands more for individuality and visible pottery craft, KAYA H for design, function and a calmer repeatability of the shapes.

Yes. KAYA and KAYA H are designed so that shapes and sizes can be combined with each other. The contrast between the more individual handwriting of KAYA and the calmer precision of KAYA H can look particularly beautiful on the table. The colours Matte Black from the KAYA H collection and greige-ecru from the KAYA collection complement each other especially harmoniously and elegantly.

KAYA H is available in Shiny White and Matte Black. Shiny White has a glossy surface that reflects light and looks clear and light. Matte Black has a velvety matte surface with a calmer, deeper effect. Both versions can be combined with each other.

KAYA H has a pleasant weight and therefore feels high-quality in the hand. Matte Black in particular is characterised by its velvety matte, hand-friendly feel, while Shiny White feels smoother and more closed. The differences between the surfaces are not only visible but can be felt directly in daily use.

Yes. KAYA H is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, making it uncomplicated in daily use. For the matte surface, we also recommend following the instructions on removing possible cutlery marks.

When using cutlery, slight grey metal marks can appear on the matte surface, depending on the alloy. As a rule, these are not damage to the glaze. The marks can be removed with our cleaning paste or a suitable mild cleaning agent for such surfaces and a soft sponge. Abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents should be avoided.

The two surfaces behave differently in use. On the matte black surface, metal marks from cutlery can become visible. This is not the case with the glossy glaze. The knife marks can usually be removed. If you prefer a surface that is as uncomplicated as possible, you can take this into account when choosing between Matte Black and Shiny White – for example by choosing Shiny White for plates and Matte Black for cups.

Yes. KAYA H was developed for regular use and is used both at home and in restaurants and hotels. The collection is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and its different shapes offer solutions from espresso and breakfast to dinner.

Yes. KAYA H received the German Design Award 2025. The award recognises the design of the collection and its combination of form, material and function.

Depending on the shape, we offer KAYA H in sets and in curated combinations. The combinations currently available can be seen directly in the collection. This lets you put together individual table moments in a targeted way and add to existing combinations later.

In principle, yes. The shapes and colours currently in the range can be added later, subject to availability. However, as we continue to develop our range, we cannot guarantee the permanent availability of every single shape and colour combination indefinitely.

That depends on how you mainly use your tableware. For everyday use, a few versatile shapes are often the best start; if you like to entertain, you can then extend the collection with serving pieces and additional plates, bowls and cups. Our sets are put together to reflect different table moments and make getting started easier.

Yes. Thanks to its reduced design language and the possibility of adding to the collection later, KAYA H also makes a good gift – from an espresso or breakfast moment to larger sets for people who love to cook and entertain.
