ROSA combines visual liveliness with qualities that matter in everyday use. The shapes are generous and versatile, the glazes develop a special depth in the light and every piece shows small handcrafted differences. At the same time, the collection is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, ovenproof and designed to be used easily from breakfast to dinner.

ROSA is made of stoneware. The ceramic material is fired at a high temperature, which makes it very well suited to tableware that is used regularly. Stoneware was particularly interesting for ROSA because it combines the functional requirements of the collection with the characteristic depth of the glazes.

With its slight asymmetry, ROSA recalls clay sliding out of the mould and shifting slightly as it does so. This minimal asymmetry often only becomes apparent at the second or third glance, yet it creates a liveliness and warmth that does every table, every interior and every gathering good. Our shapes are made by hand in many steps, and the deep-looking glaze reflects the small differences in form and line through its flow and surface. All this defines the special character of the collection. The craft process is visible and tangible in every piece.

The colour of the glaze changes with the shape and the light. With Moss Green in particular, different depths and reflections appear depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light. The colour effect changes at edges, curves and small irregularities. The surface looks alive and every piece a little different.

ROSA is designed in a reduced colour palette. For the current launch, the selected shades of the first collection are in the spotlight. The colours are developed to work both monochrome and in combination with one another.

At launch, the Grand Dinner Plate, Grand Bowl and Cappuccino Cups take centre stage. The shapes can be used individually or put together into different sets.

Further shapes will follow gradually as extensions of the collection: High Plate, Dessert Plate, Breakfast Plate, Soup Bowl, High Bowl, Olive Bowl, Brulée Bowl, Espresso Cup and possibly more.

Yes. ROSA was expressly developed for everyday use. The pieces stack well, are dishwasher- and microwave-safe and can also be used in the oven. The edge radius was designed so that the rims, which are particularly exposed, are better protected in everyday life.

On plates and bowls, the edges are among the areas most frequently exposed to knocks in everyday use. That is why the edge radius of ROSA was deliberately designed to make this zone less sensitive. This does not make the pieces unbreakable, but it improves their everyday suitability and in particular prevents chipping during quick use and knocks.

Yes. ROSA can be used in the oven and is therefore suitable not only for serving but also for preparing and gratinating food. Dishes can be prepared in a ROSA piece and then brought straight to the table in it.

The ovenproof shapes are suitable, for example, for gratins, bakes and crumbles that are prepared or browned directly in the dish. Which shape is best depends on size, the dish and individual taste. The bowls in particular combine preparing and serving in one object.

Yes. ROSA is dishwasher-safe and therefore designed for uncomplicated everyday use.

Yes. ROSA is microwave-safe and can therefore also be used to heat food in everyday life.

Yes, this very combination of preparing and serving is part of the idea behind the collection. Please observe the usual precautions for hot dishes: the piece becomes hot in the oven and should be placed on a heat-resistant surface and handled with suitable hand protection.

Yes. Shapes and colours are coordinated so that they can be combined freely. A table can be set entirely in one colour or deliberately bring together different glazes and shapes. Thanks to the shared design language, the overall look remains calm.

ROSA is deliberately not tied to a single function. The Grand Dinner Plate works for main courses as well as for arranging and sharing, the Grand Bowl for bowls, pasta, salads or dishes from the oven, and the Cappuccino Cups for coffee and other small drinks. This lets you use the collection differently again and again depending on the time of day and the occasion.

The shapes are coordinated so that they stack well and can be stored easily in everyday life. Especially with tableware that is used frequently, it was important to us that the design also works in the cupboard.

For normal cleaning, ROSA can go in the dishwasher. To keep the glaze and surface beautiful in the long term, we recommend avoiding highly abrasive cleaning agents and hard scouring pads.

Yes. ROSA was developed with regular use in mind and is also used in hotels. The versatile shapes, the stackability and the possibility of preparing and serving food in the same piece are also interesting for professional use.

ROSA is made by our partner manufactory in Portugal. The region has a long ceramic tradition, and production combines craft steps with modern manufacturing technology.

In production, clay remnants are returned to the material cycle and water is treated and reused. The manufactory works with solar energy and uses waste heat from production. The ceramic body is made exclusively from raw materials from the region. In this way, material, water and energy are used more consciously at several points.

ROSA is created in a manufacturing process in which handwork plays an important role. The pieces are worked and glazed in several steps. The small differences in shape and surface that result are part of the design and give each piece its individual character.

ROSA was developed by Uta Meeder in collaboration with Simon Schmidt-Melzer. The starting point was the question of how warmth and individuality can be combined with the requirements of uncomplicated, frequently used tableware.

Yes. The collection is designed so that shapes and colours can be added gradually and combined with one another. We will gradually extend the collection with High Plate 24cm, Dessert Plate 21cm, Breakfast Plate 16cm, Soup Bowl 16cm, High Bowl, Olive Bowl 9cm, Brulée Bowl 12cm, Espresso Cup and possibly further shapes. The specific availability of individual variants depends on the current range and production cycles.

Small variations in glaze flow and surface are characteristic and result from the handcrafted manufacturing and firing process. They make every piece individual. In the case of actual damage, our personal service will of course be happy to help.
