MAOMI | BUNGALOW K

This bungalow from the 1960s was completely gutted and renovated. We advised the clients during the planning phase. Our design concept encompasses the lighting and spatial situations in the entrance and living areas, as well as the bathroom. A strip light with fixed glazing above the line of sight maximizes the entrance area's natural light. This still preserves the privacy of the kitchen behind it. The increased brightness allows for the installation of an opaque entrance door, creating additional intimacy in the entrance area.

The living area is characterized by a newly designed open-plan kitchenette with a worktop; storage options are located only on the wall behind it, maintaining a generous living space. The exposed beam structure of the original ceiling further creates a sense of openness. The clay plaster used for the wall heating and the sound elements in the ceiling area creates an optimal indoor climate and pleasant acoustics. The minimalist interior design, combined with high-quality, natural materials and structurally created views, creates an overall sense of exclusivity and comfort, which makes guests feel welcome.
