MAOMI x PORTUGAL

Our stoneware is made in Portugal, in a region whose ceramic tradition is still shaped by material knowledge and craft. Our partner workshop CERAGES is based in Mortágua, north of Coimbra – an area where people have worked with clay for generations.

This is where our ROSA collection is made. Both the clay body and the glazes consist exclusively of naturally occurring mineral earths – which gives the surfaces their depth and makes every piece look slightly different.

As with all our partners, it mattered to us to get to know the workshop itself: how the work is done, how the material is handled and how the people there treat one another.
