MAOMI x GERMANY
We have our OFURO manufactured in a medium-sized carpentry business in Germany in the spirit of regional added value. Short, resource-saving transport routes and the safeguarding of regional jobs in the trades were important aspects for us when selecting our producer.
However, the decisive factor for our Palatinate partner's team was their knowledge of the manufacturing process for wine barrel construction. This enables us to meet our internal ecological target of using as little chemicals as possible in the form of glue or solvents in the manufacture of our wood products. For example, the floor of the OFURO is compacted in an ecologically sustainable way using rye flour paste and reed leaves.
During many visits to the site in the Palatinate, we were able to see for ourselves the care and precision in the team's work: selecting the wood and the sequence of the wood, measuring, sawing, milling, assembling for testing in a steel hoop, sanding - over many hours.
The joinery uses North American cedar wood for our MAOMI product. We maintain close personal contact with the company and benefit from the team spirit and interest of the local employees in working with us to guarantee the high quality standards of the product for our customers.
