HOUSE O | ENTRANCE

The entrance hall on the second floor of a terraced house was to be made brighter and more spacious, utilizing unused space. Despite its south-facing orientation, the area was dark due to a small dormer window, and sloping ceilings made floor space difficult to utilize. By installing a large dormer window that extends almost the entire width of the house, the room is now opened to the outside through a continuous window front made of delicate steel windows. The newly gained space under the windows is utilized for a built-in shelf. The historic railings and doors will be largely retained and, where necessary, supplemented with new, flush-fitting doors with concealed hinges.

HOUSE O | BATH

After completely gutting the attic, this bathroom was placed centrally in the room to maximize the amount of window space in the adjacent rooms. In a minimal space of 1.7 m x 2.4 m, a continuous vanity with recessed storage and a large mirrored front with shelves create a spacious overall impression. The bright white and functional design of the bathroom furniture harmoniously contrasts the native dark color of the glass mosaic tiles. The skylight integrated into the dormer above the shower and bathing area ensures good ventilation and sufficient daylight while maintaining maximum privacy.

HOUSE O | ROOM O1

An original bathroom was converted into a new room with a floor area of 8 square meters, located entirely under a sloping roof. An overhanging cube, structurally integrated into the stairwell's airspace, utilizes the house's pointed arch as an extension. The newly created sleeping area is accessed via integrated wall steps through the cube's relaxation and reading zone. Fixed glazing, providing a source of natural light, connects the latter to the activity in the house. A built-in desk and a built-in wardrobe provide a generous work area and ample storage space in the three-level room.

HOUSE O | ROOM O2

The former, dark attic room was to be transformed into a bright, two-level room for a teenager. The various functional areas of the new room are connected by an elegant, permanently installed ladder. The conversion of a small dormer window and the sloping ceilings into a spacious, modern dormer with a mix of delicate window frames and fixed glazing provides plenty of space and light on the lower level of the room. The attic room also has access to its own "open-air zone" for additional living comfort.
